With the support of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, Marian Anderson, an African-American contralto and one of the most celebrated singers of the twentieth century, sings an Easter Sunday concert for more than 75,000 at Lincoln Memorial, and a radio audience in the millions.The historic event occurred after the Daughters of the American Revolution refused to let Anderson to sing to an integrated audience in Constitution Hall.
